Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Skilyze ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our Service. We designed Skilyze to handle your career data with care.

Account data: name, email, profile details, and authentication identifiers from OAuth providers.

User Content: resumes, cover letters, attachments (old resumes, job descriptions, photos), and chat messages.

Payment data: billing history. Actual card details are handled directly by Stripe and never touch our servers.

Usage data: pages visited, features used, AI token usage, device and browser metadata.

• To operate and improve the Service;
• To generate resumes, cover letters, courses, and suggestions via AI;
• To process payments and manage subscriptions;
• To send service-related communications;
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process your personal data on these legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you sign up for (your account, AI generation, and billing).
• Consent — for optional features such as certain analytics and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service and prevent abuse, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
• Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law (e.g., tax and accounting requirements).

To generate AI output, we send relevant portions of your User Content to third-party language-model providers (e.g., OpenAI, Groq, Google). These providers act as data processors bound by their own privacy commitments. We do not use your User Content to train third-party models without your consent.

Other processors include Stripe (payments), Stytch (authentication), and infrastructure providers for hosting and storage.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers necessary to deliver the Service, when required by law, or during a business transaction (e.g., merger or acquisition), in which case we will notify you.

Recruiters. If Share my resumes with recruiters is switched on, we may show recruiters and hiring partners the resumes you have generated, and email you about roles that appear to match them. This is on by default and you can switch it off at any time in Settings → Preferences; switching it off stops any future sharing. We never share your resumes with recruiters while it is off, and we do not sell them in any case.

We rely on our legitimate interest in connecting candidates with relevant roles for this, not on consent — which is why it is presented as something you turn off rather than something you opt into. If you would prefer it not to happen at all, turning it off in Settings is sufficient; you do not need to contact us.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your resumes, attachments, and other generated content at any time from your dashboard. On account deletion we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive fields, access controls, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe.

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Request correction or deletion;
• Export your data;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Withdraw consent at any time;
• Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data (we do not sell it) and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@skilyze.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

We send service-related messages (security, billing, and account notices) that you cannot opt out of while you have an account. With your consent, we may also send product updates or promotional emails — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in those emails or by contacting support@skilyze.com.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preference storage, and anonymous analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser, but core features (like login) require session cookies to work.

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or an in-product notice. The "Effective Date" above reflects the latest revision.
